“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” – 2 Peter 3:18
Discipleship speaks to the way we follow Jesus Christ and how his character is formed within us. Through sustained attention to God's Word, we grow in our ability to understand and apply his grace and truth in our lives. Because this is an ongoing process, we encourage all to:
(1) read the Bible and pray regularly on your own and
(2) participate actively in a Bible study, Sunday school class or other group where we can grow together in faithful obedience over time. This webpage provides an overview of our current adult discipleship opportunities.
Sunday School Classes – 9:45-10:45am
Sojourners Class is held in the Library of the Education Building. This class learns and grows together through discussion of faith-forming Christian books. Currently studying A. W. Tozer’s The Pursuit of God, but you do not have to have read to join in the discussion.
Earnest Workers Class is held in the New Building, Room 112. They are studying the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles, covering the life and ministry of Jesus and the first 30 years of the Christian Church. These two books provide the background for most of the other New Testament books.
Elective Sunday School Classes
New Foundations Sunday School Class: Understanding the New Testament
We all know that the Bible has a lot to teach but often the topics seem hard to understand and apply to our lives. Focusing on the New Testament, we give an overview of important themes from the Bible and an introduction to methods for further study. This course will give you the knowledge, confidence, and tools you need as a foundation to help you grow in faith as you study Scripture. Taught by Associate Pastor Eric Beckman, this class is held in the New Building in Room 111).
Don’s class meets weekly in the Historic Chapel, studying the book of Revelation.
Great video Bible study resources are available at no cost through RightNow Media.
